According to the SS&C Intralinks 2024 Artificial Intelligence in M&A Report — a survey of 300 corporate and PE dealmakers produced with Mergermarket — nearly all survey participants (97 percent) said that staying ahead of the competition on technological capabilities is a priority for their organization.  

Of the cohort, 32 percent expressed confidence in AI technology’s transformative potential and its various applications to their operations and M&A processes. 

“AI can provide unrivaled support to dealmakers,” says the head of M&A at a U.S.-based corporate in the report. “By incorporating AI, you can increase the possibility of a successful transaction — decisions are based on concrete information and regulatory compliance can be managed seamlessly.” 

“We can expect AI to be adopted swiftly by M&A teams in the next five years,” predicts the head of M&A at a corporate in Switzerland. “Teams that do not adopt AI will become less competitive. To avoid falling behind, the pressure is now on to integrate the latest AI models to enhance decisions.”

No. We do not rely on or ship data to third-party providers like ChatGPT. All Intralinks’ AI solutions are developed organically to maintain full control over security and privacy.

How do you manage data security and privacy? 

Customer data is safeguarded within our protected environment and never leaves our ecosystem. Our strict, multi-layer security practices are continuously enforced.

Do you use customer data to train, re-train or improve models? 

No. Customer data is never used to train, re-train, or improve our models. Only those authorized on your deal team have access to your information. 

Additional context: Intralinks’ privacy-first approach aligns with growing customer demand for transparency and accountability in AI systems. User data associated with a deal is never used to train large language models (LMMs). 

What large language models (LLMs) does Intralinks AI use? 

We manage several of our own LLMs, ensuring that customer data never leaves the virtual data room (VDR).
